The Pocalla Springs After “CARES” Program

Provides a healthy snack, and employ an experienced leadership team of school workers to supervise the program.

We provide the time, the place and assistance to ensure your child completes his/her homework each week.

We offer Drama, Talent Shows, Arts and Crafts, Group Games, Monthly Activities, Movies, Outdoor/Indoor Games, Computer Lab Time and much more.

Some of our monthly activities include: Spa Day, Christmas Prom,  International Celebrations, Black History, Fall Festival, End of the Year Celebration, field trips and more.

The After CARES program will receive a hot meal between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day.
The After “CARES “(Children’s Afterschool Recreational Educational Service) is held from dismissal time until 6:00 p.m. school days.  The cost of this service is $50.00 per week for the first child and  $25.00 per week for each additional child.  There is a yearly registration fee of $20 per child that is non-refundable.
All fees must be paid at the beginning of each week.  A late payment charge of $5.00 will be assessed for accounts not paid on the first day of attendance.  Services will be denied for any child whose account is three days behind in payment.  There are no exceptions to this policy.
Daily Schedule
2:20 p.m. Check into After “CARES”
2:30 – 3:00 p.m. Snack Time
3:00 p.m. Homework / Arts and Crafts
4:00 p.m.  Hot Meal Served
5:00 p.m. Computer Lab or Special Activity
6:00 p.m. Program ends – The program ends at 6:00 p.m., and you must have your child picked up no later than that time.  Parents are given a grace period to 6:05, after that there is a $5.00  per minute fee.
Our Mission Statement – The mission of the After “CARES” program is to provide a safe, fun environment for children who can participate independently in leisure and recreational activities.  This program is intended for a limited number of children who meet the following qualifications:

  • The ability to follow directions in a large group setting
  • Respond appropriately to adult supervision in a large group setting.
  • Perform basic self help behaviors such as toileting and feeding independently


Computer: Students will participate in Internet research, SuccessMaker, or educational games.

Aerobic Activity: Students will participate in organized games.

Reading: Students will participate in reading activities and homework.

Enrichment Activity: Students will participate in arts and crafts, music, and drama.

Surprises: Students will participate in new and different learning activities including field trips.
