By order of the Governor, all schools are officially closed through April 3oth. During that time, students in grades 1-5 will complete online activities created by teachers to continue instruction. Students in need of a Chromebook may contact the school between 9:00 – 1:00 in order to pick up a chromebook.
Sumter School District will continue to provide students with a meal during the two-week closure. Through a snatch-a-snack process, breakfast and lunch will be distributed Monday through Friday with breakfast and lunch available from 9 AM to 1 PM.
The district continues to monitor the process daily. As a result, an adjustment has been made, and busses will deliver meals at 10 AM to specific pick-up spots throughout the community: New Bethel Church, Pack Road, Crescent Mobile Homes, American Mobile Homes, DeLaine Community Center, Rembert Post Office, Pisgah Crossroads, Manchester Post Office, Shiloh Community Center, Mayesville Post Office, Catchall Center, Ebenezer Center, Frierson Mobile Homes, Windsor City, Birnie Hope Center, South Hope Center, North Hope Center, Jehovah Center, Trinity Baptist Church, Salterstown Center, and National Guard Armory.
Students must be present at the time of pick up as no food will be consumed on site. Information regarding the distribution of food the following week will be communicated.
