I am currently Pocalla Springs Elementary's Technology Curriculum Resource Teacher. I have been a part of the Sumter School District since arriving in South Carolina in 2000. I received my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Geneseo State University of New York. I taught in upstate New York then moved to South Carolina to enjoy South Carolina's much nicer climate. I started teaching at Shaw Heights Elementary where I taught both second and third grades. I was named Teacher of the Year and twice named Distinguished Reading Teacher while teaching at Shaw Heights. In 2009, I moved to Pocalla Springs Elementary where I taught second grade. In 2015, I was named Pocalla Springs Teacher of the Year and In August 2015 was named the Sumter School District Teacher of the Year. I can't think of a better job than working with the students, parents, and staff at Pocalla Springs Elementary. I look forward to coming to work everyday and spending it educating those around me in the ever-changing world of technology and learning from them as well.
